Sorry if I picked wrong... I just want to share a short article that I wrote about making the jump to Blu-ray. It is short on tech savvy info and really is just my babblings about some of the problems I encountered. I’m still new to the format so forgive me if this seems like a waste. A solid piece of writing even though I don't agree with every point. It probably fits best in the Blu-ray News and Tech forum.

didn't get all the way through it, but just a heads up, every player as far as i know CAN be updated, you download the firmware off the website onto a disc, pop the disc in and voila, process has never taken me more then 15 minutes for all my players. ps3 has the ethernet port so a disc is not required, which is more convenient yes, but many standalone players come with that feature now. and for anyone without a cdburner or internet access, you can call the company and they will send you a disc, that is a little inconvenient.

edit: this is of course to play the movie, not add bd-live features.

Good to know, a few others told me that as well. I had been under the impression that some of them could not be but I'm realizing I think that was just because of the lack of the ethernet port.
