Default External Hard Drive Vista Help

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read my post..

Here is my question. I have a Wd 160 GB external hard drive.. I have recently purchased a new computer with windows Vista 64bit OS. My old PC had windows xp..

I have my IPOD backed up on my external for some reason i cannot get my computer to recognize the music files off my external.. I does recognize my video but not my ipod back up files..

Note my ps3 displays them and my old XP OS did but not my new PC.

Please help

Is it showing the files but not a good extension, or just not showing the files at all? It could be they are in an apple format that you don't have installed on the computer and it doesn't know what to do with the files. If it's not showing them then I'm not sure.

it shows the ipod file but just the contacts and calander files not the divice file with the music. The computer dose recognize the files space that is used..
