I have been debating about picking up this set and checked out two reviews, the first here at Blu-ray.com and the second at Home Theater Equipment.com. The first review rated the video quality of Raiders as a 4.5/5 and I quote:
"Still, despite a few minor hiccups, this is Raiders of the Lost Ark as it was meant to be seen and one of the finest catalogue Blu-ray transfers on the market." The second review gave Raiders a rating of 3.5/5 and I again quote: "The first 20 minutes of the movie isn't the best HD I've seen. The image is rather flat, blacks slightly crushed, and the color palette has an orange cast to it. Fortunately the middle of the film fares much better and it’s the best I've ever seen it look, but then it falls apart again the last 15 minutes of the film. Maybe a lot of this has to do with the original film elements, but I'd been hoping for so much more." I would be interested to hear opinions and comments from people who have already bought the set as to what they think of the video quality for Raiders. Thanks. |
