Default Onkyo 805 Firmware Help

Once again I'm asking for your help.
I just bought an Onkyo 805 refurbished and I'd like to know if mine has the latest firmware /DSP versions. Here's what I got.

MAIN: 1.06/07925A
DSP1: SR8051/07601A
DSP2: SR8052/07518A
DSP3: SR8053/07820B

HDMI: 1.02/08528A
VIDEO: 3.58/07609A

I still haven't set it up yet because I'm waiting to replace my old speakers but I tested it briefly just to check if everything is working right (I just have a 1 year warranty) and I'd like to know if I need to install an update.

I really appreciate your help with this issue.

I guess it's time for me to move this question to the AVS Forum, I'm surprised that so many peaople out here recommend and have 805's but nobody cares about the firmware, oh well time to move on.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=65315 is the thread on the 605/705. There are links included that should point out what you need for the 805 as well.

I have a 605 refurb and mine's up to date. Honestly, there's no reason why yours would not be, but you should be able to find the info there.

FYI- You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I would just like to ask if there is anybody on here with the insight/knowledge to possibly make a sticky for all of us Onkyo TX-SR_ _ _ owners. It seems a high percentage of people on here, including myself, own these receivers and still no sticky. I think it would be of great help to the Onkyo community and highly appreciated. just a thought

1) MAIN - upgrade to 1.08 to shorten audio lock-on time when changing sources

2) DSP1 - upgrade to SR8051/08214A - eliminates dts bomb

If you're not bitstreaming, you don't care about the DSP. Legacy dts tracks are not affected.

If you're not bothered by the audio stream and how long it takes to fix onto the audio stream, you don't need to worry about the MAIN one either.

Everything else looks good.

Thanks a lot, I knew somebody would help, now I'm pretty new to all these new blu ray technology, within the last 30 days I had my first BD player Sony 350, a few good BD's and my Onkyo 805 to get lossless audio.
I'm assuming the 350 will bitstream the lossless audio to the receiver so the 805 can decode those tracks, am I right? I'm worried about the dts bomb, in my case do I need to be concerned about this dts bomb?
Sorry, as I mentioned I'm still learning and I don't know if with my set up I'll be bitstreaming or not.

Yes, you'll need to update the DSP for get rid of the "DTS Bomb" if you're going to bitstream.

Thanks Footloose and Dobyblu you were really helpful. Now I'm going to throw this in the air, I need the cd with the DSP update, at this time I don't have computer at home and the one at work do not let me burn cd's, does anybody out there would be kind enough to burn the DSP update on a cd and mail it out to me? I'm willing to send you $6 via Paypal to cover shipping and cd cost. Anybody?

There IS an update for nearly all higher end Onkyo's, including the 805's.
