Hi,
Speed Racer just got released in the UK today, and i'm having a few issues with it I know i should probably ask this in the Europe sub-forum, but as i suspect this (like most Warner releases) is the exact same disc released in the States, i figure i'd get a wider opinion here Basically the main concern is... I'm playing it on a PS3 with audio delivered via Optical... and i seem to be getting random sound drop-outs... it's happening on both the main feature and the extras... not often, maybe just a couple of times during the lenght of the movie... the sound drops out for just a fraction of a second (and the display on my theatre amp picks this up), yet when i rewind the film back and play over the same section again, it doesn't happen. So it appears quite random. This has never happened on any other Blu-Rays I own previous to this, and I cannot get it to happen again on any other movie i've tried since playing Speed Racer, therefor i'm quite confident this is not an issue with either my player, the amp, or the optical cable. Has anyone had anything similar with this or other movies? Do you think it could be a bad disc? The other thing i wanted to mention, was a weird problem with the encode i noticed... nothing major, and only very brief... but at exactly the 40minute mark (using the PS3's info overlay) for just 1 second, there is a scene where Speed walks out of an elevator and across of room... and in the lower right right-hand portion of the screen, is a single bright white pixel, that i can only describe as looking like a dead pixel on a Sony PSP handheld, where the backlight shines through... it's most noticable in the left-shoulder/armpit area of Speed's dark T-Shirt It's not particularly anything to get upset about... but with my HD eyes, i noticed it like a Hawk... i'm wondering if anyone had noticed it on their discs? It seems like it's most likely a fault with the camera recording the scene, but for a movie where every frame has been through a digital artists suite of somesort, you would have thought it would have been picked up and 'fixed' long before the film was finalised! Anyway, any input appreciated. Thanks for reading. Last edited by Firstborn; 11-11-2008 at 12:56 AM. |
