I have a Samsung 40' LCD LA40M81BX
A Bose 28 series Lifestyle unit

Which Blu-ray player should I buy (Availible in Hong Kong)
Can you get a player that will play any reigon of DVD disk

First off welcome to the forum!!!!

Second, for a Blu-Ray player I would suggest for you a Panasonic BD30 but there has been some issues with Samsung LCD HDTV's and that one. Theres a thread all about it in the Blu-Ray player section. My next choice is always the PS3, if you want a game console or not, it's still one of the best players on the market.

Third, at this time there are no region free Blu-Ray players. But Hong Kong, Japan and the US are all in Region A so you can import Blu-Rays from your neighbors in Japan and your friends over here in the United States.

There are many BD recorders available in Japan. During the format war BD was 97% of the recorder market there. According to some industry insiders we will see our 1st BD recorder here in the US in 2009, maybe @ CES next January. Personally I have been trying to import one but finding one with menus in English has been a challenge. I might try building a HTPC with a BD burner & a couple of TBs of storage while I wait.

Welcome aboard! I say the Sony BDP-S350 if you can get it that is. Otherwise go with Panasonic's Blu Ray players because next to Sony they have a great lineup of Blu Ray Players.
