Mods, can you make this thread a sticky?

Hey Penton,

Does it specifically have to be WB titles? or are they looking at overall #'s?

You want to win the war? You want the victory dance to be Blu?

1. Update your Signature to show the Blu-ray Disc titles you WILL BE BUYING or have already bought this December (4th quarter sales before January 1, 2008) to help motivate your fellow Blu members. Make that list grow, and go heavy on the Warner Titles. Real Heavy.

2. BUY THEM.

That's the only way your vote will count.

Let's send WB a nice welcome message from the Blu Consumer Community. If there are any counter-offers and political pressures threatening what we hope is true, let's add some weight to the Blu side of the scale.

I count the Harry Potter box set as five titles. And I've included the NL purchases too.

Gary,

update your sig to show it!

Let every BD title you buy this December be reflected in your sig so every post you make on the board will show others your support and help motivate everyone to make a single, Blu, format a reality.

It's there. I'm going to be more subtle than others because I need my message body to have impact.

I doubt that listing WB movies in our sig's here is going to make any differance at all.
Buy the movies if your gonna do it. $ talks.

I'll eventually put together some hip signature, but I'll sit out on the WB sig crusade.

I'm buying The Shining, T3, Unforgiven, and the Ocean's Trilogy by the end of December. That should do.

Well I cancelled 9, yes 9 Warner titles ordered from their store because of their lack of incentive to ship it them to me. I plan on picking them all up, but now I will wait until I can get them in a BOGO or other good deal.

Did you read my *two* points in the opening post?

Listing your BD purchase list in the sig is for *other members* on the board. It's to help motivate.

Buying the discs, as I just bought two off Amazon just now, is the required follow-up to impact the bottom line for the studio.

Let's leave lame-duck attitudes out of what should be a motivational thread. Get the spirit man... take all of 5 seconds to update your sig!

If nothing else, do like I just did and get a couple of BD titles of HP OOTP for family/friends as Christmas gifts. But get some WB titles none the less.

Warner titles from my wish-list that I will most likely purchase this month:

2001
The Aviator
A Clockwork Orange
Happy Feet

There are about 8 more on my list, but I could only get those on another BOGO sale

Then give us a summary count in your sig.

I hope everyone realized that the "crusade" we're on isn't about how many BDs are on your shelf... it's about creating a surge in sales this 4th quarter... starting NOW.

Remember how the AVS crusade got all the HD DVD zealouts to order Planet Earth on HD DVD? Remember how it worked? Remember how it *still* shows up as a sales-spike even now, and causes discussion in pro-HD DVD circles?

We gotta do the same thing for Blu.

DO IT! And update that sig... even if it's just count of discs you have bought/will buy in December.

Kinda the same situation here

But the prospect is just too exciting...splurge all you can on Warner titles, and watch the tide turn in your favor

Think, guys: high bit-rate VC-1 encodes? No more gimping on extras? Universal thinking twice about its position? All those "delayed" Warner releases finally coming out?

Do it for glory...do it for Blu !!!

I'll be updating my sig soon ...

*fires up Amazon.com*

This "war" has already cost me more than I had budgeted for this year and I've purchased to many titles that I consider aren't worth the plastic they are housed on - SAHARA - yes I'm a loser.

Warner makes up about 35% of my 80+ BD collection but I'd be willing to purchase a title like 300 (no disrespect to the fans but its just not my taste) if people were willing to consider titles like THE SEARCHERS or RIO BRAVO or THE WILD BUNCH.

Since Dec. began I posses (or have coming):
20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH
POTC_3
all 5 POTTERS individually (I already own the first 4 on DVD)
MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA
TROY
HAIRSPRAY
PIXAR SHORTS
RATATOUILLE
LIFE OF BRIAN
VIVA LAS VEGAS
BLADE RUNNER
PAN'S LABRYNTH

Is this the PS3 demographic, because its what I use?

ted

No one wants to update their sig?

the idea of updating your sig is that members not reading this thread will see your BD-buying support in other threads where you post... and be motivated themselves.

c'mon guys... just a little sig change for the holidays? Too much to ask to help the industry go blu?

Well I did just get my parents to start buying Blu-ray titles. Yesterday they picked up:
The Last Samurai
The Phantom of the Opera
Unforgiven
The Fugitive
Lethal Weapon
The Road Warrior
Swordfish
Training Day
Memoirs of a Geisha

That should help.

The best buy BOGO next week will add a few more titles to my collection and hopefully theirs as well.

Op, you are 110% RIGHT! I was thinking of creating this thread myself but I'm happy someone did. Not just Harry Potter but HP and all the other WB movies, 300, etc.

This is Mortal Kombat: "Finish Him!"
