Default Aspect Ratio as part of Statistics

So I tried searching this before I started a new thread, but found nothing.

I think the statistics page on blu-ray.com is great. It puts that kind of information into perspective. I think you should add Aspect Ratio as a stat, pie chart and all, and you'll probably find (like I have), that 2.35:1 leads out by a wide margin.

In my opinion, this is going to lead top HDTV manufactureres to look at this and determine whether producing a Cinescope HDTV is in their future. An unofficial rumor is that Sharp is already talking about it.

Now wouldn't that be awesome...

Except when you were watching normal TV - that had 16:9 or 4:3 programming. A 16:9 TV would be better than a 2.35:1 TV for that. You'd have massive black side bars on everything with a ratio lower than 2.35:1.

Well yes, such is the trade-off.

But then I would have 2 TV's. One for watching movies, one for watching TV and less-than-2.35:1 movies.

hence the reason I'm contemplating on putting an LCD TV behind my projector screen
