Ok I have been playing my xbox360 on my 22 inch monitor for over a month while in the next room I have a 1080p and a home theatre system. I have had the setting on my Panny plasma on 0 for the 2 months (just to be safe)
but I can not take it anymore I want to play on a big tv with good sound!!! I am just so scared about getting burn in and I know that it has a pixel orbitor but I play for like 4-5 hours a day (since Gears of War has come out) and I really do not know what to do. I want to enjoy my gaming but at the same time I do not want anything bad to happen to my tv. I want to hear what all you people with Panny Plasmas do if you game that long. Should i just play on my monitor 720p? Thanks |

honestly, i wouldnt worry about as much as you seem to be now. if you've had it for 2 months, i doubt you'll have any issues.
i have a pioneer plasma and I've been playing gears of war 2 now for hours on end. today i played for like 6 hours straight because work got called off today and i didnt have anything to do. heh. either way though, i have zero burn in issues and it doesnt even cross my mind anymore. i think you need to move that onto the big screen, because playing gears of war on my 50" plasma with surround sound and all is.....well......AWESOME. haha if you need anyone to play with also, hit me up! ive been playing GoW2 pretty much non stop since it came out. heh. Been playing games constantly on my Pany plasma all year without even a hint of IR that I can see. My son plays COD4 and GOW2 online constantly, and lately I've put-in marathon sessions of GOW2 without any problems. I tell ya, GOW2 on a 58" plasma is simply awesome!

I have an 2007 Panansonic plasma. I've had it for 12 months.
My kids log about 10 hours a week of games on it. No problems what so ever. If any image every appears to be "left behind", then it goes away after a couple of minutes watching TV or a Blu-ray. In other words there is no lasting effect. You don't need to turn off any numerical displays in the games which sit in a fixed location. Go for it!! |
