I'd say it's sci-fi so it will make less than other pixar movies. Sci-fi doesn't have a broader appeal

You probably underestimated this movie. It earned around $63.1M in its first three days - the third highest Pixar opening, and it beats Kung-Fu Panda...

I think it will settle around half a Billion which is awesome. Pixar is my favorite studio for all CGI animation. I hope they'll continue with the quality in future releases.
Anyone seen a teaser of their next big thing ? called "Up"

It'll easily pass the $600 million mark. And probably do even better than that Closing in on $700 million. It's outgrossing Kung Fu Panda in many territories, The US and UK are just two examples.

Speaking of which does anyone have a link to the current worldwde gross? Box Office Mojo's attention on other movies has become slightly lax since The Dark Knight was released (understandably)

Well of course someone does...

Wall-E = $404 million worldwide
Production Budget $180 million

Kung Fu Panda $611.5 million World wide
Budget $130million

There is no way it will catch Kung Fu Panda. It'll be a feat for it to get to $450million total.

I don't know what you're basing that on. It is yet to release in:

Australia 18 September 2008
Greece 18 September 2008
New Zealand 18 September 2008
Austria 25 September 2008
Germany 25 September 2008
Turkey 26 September 2008
Switzerland 2 October 2008
Italy 17 October 2008
Japan 20 December 2008.

I'm keeping my on Japan as that is normally a HUGE territory for Pixar.

It'll definitely do more than $600 mill!

The Panda's peaked!

Looks Like Panda smoked Wall-E. There's no way Japan is going to push this over $600 million. It may limp past $500 million. Still good numbers.

Panda $631 million
Wall-E $485 million
