Deputy Steel in Fallout 3..How do you beat him?

I am just wandering around Megaton, walk into a house (forget the name of it) and I am under atack by Deputy Steel. He keeps on kicking my A#$, lighting me on fire and shooting me down. How do I defeat this robot? Can anyone help me out? This sucks because I can not proceed until I defeat him. If I leave the house the Megaton settlers start attacking me.

And I also killed Doc Church by accident, Is that going to be a problem.

Just give them all the finger and drop the nuke on Megaton removing it from the map forever.

How do you do that, and also if you do, will there be any sidequests to complete?

You'll probably want to finish your quests in Megaton first; however, it sounds like you have already screwed yourself.

There is a trick though...

If you can somehow leave the town of megaton and stay out of it for three game days, you should be able to go back and not have the folks all pissed at you anymore. So, basically, go to big town and crash on that easy access bed for 72 hours then beam back to megaton and see if they have chilled.

I finished the game, and already mailed it back to GameFly, so can someone just satisfy my curiosity, and tell me what you get paid for selling fingers?

I took the perk where bad guys always drop a finger after you kill them, but never got around to selling them to anyone. Who do you sell these to, and how many caps do you get for each one?

10 caps per finger plus Good Karma increase.

I recommend waiting 3 days and going back to Megaton. Then talk to the guy at Moriarty's bar whom wants to blow up the town. Then tell Deputy Steel about his plans. Guy at bar kills Steel and you do not lose Karma.

I get in close in enough where he cannot use his Plasma blasts. When you get in close, he switches to flame thrower. Then rotate around him and beat the crap out of him with your bat. After you kill him, make sure you grab all of the weapons in the room.

I thought Deputy Steel just stood out in front of Megaton, I've never seen him in town. I did freak out one time upon exiting to find him firing away at something. It turns out an ant was approaching and he toasted it.

...well to the op I recommend waiting, the people of fallout have a short term memory and forget your evil deeds.

Ill tell you a funny story, I went to tenpenny tower to extract some revenge went to the top of the tower blew tenpenny's head off and then killed the entire security staff that was inside the building waiting while in the tower and proceded to walk out.. all was good...
