Default about the xbox360 120gb hdd

since it is microsoft, doesn't that equate to about 90gb or less since that seems to be their trend with windows. compare that to normal or yellowdog linux which is slimmer so that the 60gigs for the ps3 seems to go down to only about a gig or 2. I know my numbers aren't right but isnt that the idea?

Im pretty sure their 20gig was only 13 after the OS, but I dont own one so Im not positive.

I cant see the OS using anymore space regardless of original HDD space. 7gigs sound about right to me so Ill take a wild guess and say the new HDD is 113GB after everythings said and done.

Is this what your talking about? I was a bit confused. like your sig btw/

Yes, the 20gb went down to 13gb w/ the OS. You can squeeze a little out of that 7gb by deleting the videos and crap they have on there.

You know, at the end of the day it doesn't matter for the game development side because there will always be an Xbox 360 out there that has no hard drive...so developers can never make use of this added space. Not a problem today - but it will be in a year or two...

Y'know, I can go to www.pricewatch.com right now, for example, and call up several fairly nice 500GB hard drives right now for what MS is asking for, for their 120 GB on this "newer" Xbox360.

Remember too, the larger a hard drive is the more you lose in formatting.

160gb is the largest to us consumers right now on them hard drives... around $105 for it, unless of course you can use an external then a 750gb+ is not out of question.
