Profile Update - Blu-ray Forum

I am kind of new to this. I have a SONY BDS301, which appears to be profile 1.0 Do firmware updates update the profile also? I bought WALL•E but can't access the commentaries because the player doesn't support Bonus view.

Welcome to Blu-ray.

The Sony BDP S301 is not 1.1 compliant and will not be upgradeable to 1.1 compliance due to hardware limitations. Some players can, however, be upgraded via firmware update.

Yea, your kind of limited there. Might need to upgrade your player soon.

That is what I was afraid of. Unfortunately, it will be a while before I upgrade. The player was a gift from my wife and is only a couple of months old.
