IS there such thing as a region free Blu Ray player yet?

Yes there is! Check out bluraymods.com

I sent them an Email today asking how exactly they can assure me its not affected by any firmware updates and whether or not you have a waranty or not should something be wrong.

They Emailed me back and told me that the regioncoding isn't in the firmware, which is why the mod chip they install is future proof as the website says.

As for the waranty, you get 1 full year on the entire player (not just the mod chip). Only drawback is, you need to sent it back to them. They also told me they haven't had a single unit returned so far.

I'm still not sure whether or not to buy one. Should you buy one please let me know how it works

(b.t.w., besides BlurayMods.com and other modded players, there is the 'LG-route' for DVD-region free, and the 'worlds first' region-free player in Australia)
