Default Thoughts on the Yamaha RX-V661

Several people recommended I look at the Yamaha receivers for use with my PS3. I have an older pre-HDMI receiver so I need HDMI to get lossless with my PS3.

After looking around, I found this model at Frys for about $500.

The model number is slightly different from the one shown on Yamaha's site. Is this just a production run change or are there any significant differences here? I didn't know if this was normal during a production run or if I'm really looking at 2 different models.

Aside from the model differences, would this be a suitable receiver for getting lossless audio? I'm not looking for top notch audio as I don't have a trained ear to tell the difference. I just want to get as good as an average audio user can appreciate. I can tell a big difference even from lossless 2 channel over optical verses ac3 (during action scenes).
