Default Is it OK to pair up Klipsch VF35 fronts with Polk RTi4 rears?

I'm not sure if this is a typo here in Canada, but BestBuy has the Klipsch Icon VF35 tower speakers for $290 Cdn for the pair.

Although I'm relatively happy with my setup, I think I've got upgraditis, and the itch is killing me.

My only concern, is whether or not the system will sound "wonky" with such differences in speaker sizes and types.

I'm way to junior to do any kind of timbre matching, but do you guys think the Klipsch's will play nice with the Polk RTi4's in the back? Does it matter?

At the price they're going for at BB, I'm really tempted. Plus, they're one of a few tower speakers that actually fit my space.

There are tonnes of Klipsch owners out there, so hopefully those with Klipsch fronts and non-Klipsch rears can give me some feedback!

Thanks a lot guys, looking forward to your responses.

Cheers,

- Rick

Surrounds don't have to timbre-match. They can typically be just about any brand. They're typically used a lot less than the other speakers as well, so chances are you won't even notice. If you like those Klipsch and they're a good deal, I say go for it.

The biggest issue will be timbre-matching with your center.

Ahhh... I didn't know that. The things I learn from these forums!

These speakers retail for like $750 I keep reading, so to get them for $290, is very tempting. I'm almost positive it's a pricing error on BB Canada.

Finger on the trigger...
