Default new centre and fronts - ok to upgrade rears later?

Hi Folks,

I've just updated my mordaunt short ms302 sats (front) and ms904 centre to Monitor Audio R90 HD's from the fronts and R180HD for the centre. Due to budget constraints I was going to wait a couple of months and then upgrade the rear sats (ms302s) to R90HD's as well.

Question is - should i upgrade the rears now or will the fact that i add them later have any impact on the sound? Will that they have been run in at different times etc make any difference?

I am running the mordaunt short ms309i subwoofer which i wont be upgrading in the near future

Cheers,
Mick

p.s amp is sony strdg910

Waiting should be OK. Rears are not extensively used in the first place.

It will turn out to be more of a psychological boost than a real boost once you do upgrade.

It shouldn't be too big of a deal to hold off on the surrounds for a little while. However, depending on the kind of movies you watch (on blu-ray??) makes a difference on how much they are used. I'm an action junkie myself and they do see a lot more use than a lot of people realize IMO. You may watch movies with your old surrounds vs. with the new ones you're going to get and think you were missing out without them.

well how things change in a week! i now have a 225hd centre, 180hd left/right and r90hd's from monitor audio at rears at home.. i guess i just couldnt help myself! the shops recommended me the rsw12 sub to go with it.. but i have a decent enough sub in the mordaunt short ms309i and i cant justify the expense at the moment.. darn credit cards.. so tempting!
