Talking Buying my first 1080p TV this weekend but I need some help in choosing one...

Hey fellow members,

Now that finally got my PS3 I will need a 1080p TV to go along with it.

Im interested in purchasing an LCD because I really like the 120hz with motion flow or smooth motion video or whatever each tv brand calls it.

Here are my choices that i narrowed it down to.

VIZIO XVT 42INCH W/120HZ $999.99

LG 42INCH SCARLET W/120HZ $1199.99

TOSHIBA REGZA 40INCH W/120HZ $999.99

Price, tv size 40inches or bigger, reliability, are some of my deciding factors.

Thanks

Id go with the toshiba regza, good size/price, and pretty solid reviews. Overall, good entry to 1080p.

I'd say none of the above. For the best possible picture, I'd recommend a Pany plasma, but since you want pixel interpolation (motion flow), then I would go with a Samsung LCD. Definitely stay AWAY from Vizio!

Seriously, why would you spend $$ on a Vizio with a crappy picture and spotty quality when you can buy much better sets/brands for not a whole lot more? Penny-wise and quality foolish, if you ask me (and most everyone else around here).

My Vizio has been marvelous since purchase in Aug. Time may tell, but isn't that true with ANYTHING? In comparison to my 56" Sammy DLP, I prefer it to the point that when I upgrade that 56", a plasma, and dare I say it, a Vizio, will definitely be in the list.

If you are looking for 5:5 pulldown for 1080P/24 go with the Toshiba 40XF550U or the LG60 or LG70. The VIZIO 120HZ models might convert 1080P/24 to 60HZ first and then frame double to 120HZ using interpolation. I am waiting for a review to verify since I have not had the chance to play with this VIZIO model.

Plasma is not bad but i definitely like the 120hz motion flow, real life cinema look or what ever they call it on the LCD's.

I've had my 50" panasonic plasma for about nine months of PURE joy!! I would buy another in a heartbeat. I personally liked plasma over LCD just in overall quality of picture and color that I saw in other good sets when I was compare shopping-and believe me I did A LOT before finally purchasing one.
