Default $700 to $1000 to spend on Audio Equip?

I have $700-$1000 to spend on a set-up for surround sound and want to get the best sounding system for that price. Any help would be appreciated. Equipment does not have to match, but would like it to be aesthetically pleasing as well.

Thanks

speakers and receiver .

I would like to go 7.1, but realize that with that money may need to go 5.1 and then upgrade later.

Denon AVR1909 enter coupon code: AFLAUD25 for 25% off.

Polk Audio Monitor 60 (x2)

Polk Audio Monitor Series CS2 Center Channel

...that will run roughly $1,000 shipped.

then just save for a nice subwoofer and surrounds.

I think the coupon code for the Denon receiver actually expires at midnight. Better act real fast...25% off is a steal.

EDIT: Never mind, they still have it going for "cyber monday"

Nice! I just happen to be buying to Polk front speakers and one center today.... That couldn't have happened at a better time. (I'm already getting another sub so I can just sell that free one when the new one gets here... the other being the ED A2-300).

Onkyo 606
Thespeakercompany.com for speakers, got a slamming setup for $350. If you doubt they have $30 day money back including shipping costs back which is expensive on speakers and sub.

You'll spend about $700

One question: How did you get the free sub? Does it show that it's free once you check out?

It's a special deal that Polk is running right now. If you have a qualifying purchase of over $500, it's yours free.

Yeah but according to this link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000160431

you're limited to the speakers shown. I wanted the Monitor 70s, the CS2, and the Monitor 30s....

I honesetly wouldn't bother with the polk sub.. even free. You will get much more linear bass response from the towers alone. Adding a junky sub will make your setup sound boomy and will just muddy the sound. Just my $.02
