samsung bdp 1000 audio hook-up question

right now i have a subwoofer and its plugged in to my a/v reciever-in that 5.1analog section on my harmon/kardon-i hooked up the additional 5.1 speakers from my reciever to the dvd player-the dvd player also has a spot for the sub but dont i leave it in my a/v reciever to the sub or do i take it out of the reciever and put it in the dvd player
