Default Trouble w/ The Happening

I popped in The Happening bluray. It got to the menu and I pressed play movie and it just kept going back to the menu, kept pressing play movie and it just kept doing the same thing. Anybody else have any issues with this movie?.

Worked fine here (using a PS3 in case you want to know the player).

well crap. i took my copy of The Happening back to best buy and exhanged it with another and its still doin the same damn thing.

ANyone have any ideas? My player is a Sharp and its not the latest line of players like 1.1 or 2.0 or whatever it is. Its just from the first line of players. The only bluray i ever had a problem with on it was of DAY WATCH. I then downloaded the latest firmware for my player and then it played fine.

So why isnt The Happening working? I checked the site and there hasnt been a newer firmware since the one i downloaded.

any clue?

and i understand many of you dont like it. i get it. I enjoyed it so im just wondering about my problem.

I'm also having the black screen problem with this BD. I have a Sharp player... I e-mailed Sharp as I did not see a firmware update since the Jumper update in June.

Pain in the rear.

Looks like maybe it has to do with our SHARP players then. If you get an email back can you post it here? thanks.

I know this is nothing relevant to the issue, but all I can think about it they're saying turned around a bit.

" From Sharp minds come Sharp objects "

Quite literally I'm guessing from the issues people are having.

I have a PS3 as my player, haven't updated though. But apparently that is not the issue. Oh well, I just watched on DVD. Not to impressive but oh well.

We're in the same boat. I have a Sharp player to but I saw other people with other players having the same issue. I also e-mailed sharp, but I'm not holding my breath for a response. I guess I'll just keeping checking back to see if anyone has any advice. Are we having fun Yet?

Mine works fine with 60 Gb PS3.

And contrary to many, I did like the movie!

Considering the film...this sounds more like a solution rather than a problem.

<- n00b.

Same thing happened (no pun intended) to me last night. I've contacted SHARP and they claim they are investigating the issue. Let's hope for a firmware update soon.

Too much money to be restricted by issues like this.

I also have the same issue with my Sharp BD-H20U and The Happening, it will play all the previews, however when I get to the main menu and try to play the movie I get a black screen.

If I choose Select a Scene and try to access any scene I also get the same results, a black screen.

My player is updated to the current latest revision of firmware as per the Sharp site, and like other Forum members I've emailed Sharp regarding the issue.

If I hear anything back from them I'll update this thread.

Good or bad movie aside... Manufacturers need to be aware of playability issues. Let's hope SHARP responds soon.
