Default Think HDMI receivers will ever do this?

Allow you to watch video from one source while listening to audio from another source.

That's the biggest thing I hate about HDMI. I can't watch football from my satellite while listening to music from another input.

Connect the satellite directly to your TV with component cables in addition to HDMI throught the receiver.

I got around that by adding 2 bookshelf speakers to my front soundstage as Zone 2. So, I can have HMDI cable playing in Zone 1, on my TV, turn the volume all the way down, and crank up music from my CD player or iPod on my Zone 2 speakers. Also works great for different music when gaming, since it still allows me to get sound effects from the game, but my own choice of music!

Can't do it.... I'm using the s-video out to my PC and the hdmi to my receiver. Unless it will output all three? hmmmm But even still, the devices I would use to play music (ps3 & 360) are both hdmi as well.

Just go into your onkyo menu and re-assign the video and audio input that you want. Atleast i can do that on my 805, guessing it will work on 606 also.

CD or whatever button you want it on:
Video:hdmi cable box
Audio: whatever hdmi og optical or coax you want to have the sound from.

Unless you're listening to high resolution multi-channel music, you could use an extra optical cable to your PS3 for audio.

My Yamaha allows it without reassigning anything.

I choose my video source first and then my audio source. I dont think it works for every source but it allows me a few things...

1- I can play Tiger Woods on my PS3 and listen to XM/CD while doing it
2- I can watch the Yankees on TV and listen to the radio broadcast while doing it.

thats all I have tried it with but there is nothing else i would need it for.

Good to know they already do that then. Next time I shop for a receiver upgrade, I'll check for that feature.
