Default Permanent side bar on Panasonic TH-50PZ80U

Hi,

i'm new here and was wondering if you kind folks would help me with this problem i encountered yesterday. i've had this TV since June and as of last night, i noticed a permanent black side bar on the far right side of my screen. it won't go away. i've tried changing the aspect ratio, 4:3, full, zoom, just, etc, but the bar is still there. i looked through the TV settings but didn't find anything.

i'm certain it's the TV set 'cus it was there when i watched a DVD last night. it was also there when i switched the TV to the Comcast cable box. when watching in 4:3, i get the regular side bars along with the permanent side bar that won't go away. when watching an HD/widescreen program, everything on the far right side of the screen appears to get cut off. i'll take pictures to show you exactly what i'm talking about if anyone needs them.

i've checked the TV manual but there was nothing there that could help me. i repeatedly tried calling their hotline but keep getting a busy line. i've also tried contacting Circuit City's Advantage Protection Plan since we purchased it with the TV, but they're not open on weekends.

i figured i'd try you guys before i contact a Circuit City employee, as i believe you folks would know more. has anyone ever encountered a problem like this before? any advice is appreciated.

please help,
ec48
