you have to go in the ps3 audio menu and turn off all the 5.1 and 7.1 options and only leave the options with 2 channels checked. Then your receiver should make it come through all your speakers

no you have to leave the 2 channel options check, and yes it does affect movies, if you watch a movie you have to go turn everything else back on. It is a big pain, but that is the only way to do it that I know of

If I understand correctly, you want sound to come from all of your speakers even if the original source (CD) is recorded with only 2 channels, right?

Rather than mess with the settings on the PS3, I would look through the various sound processing options for your receiver to see if there is an option called "all-channel stereo" or something similar. If your receiver doesn't have such an option (or it doesn't work over HDMI), then you could use the optical audio output of the PS3; however, then you will have to go into the PS3's audio settings and switch between HDMI and optical whenever you switch from playing movies to playing CDs.

So it shows up PCM on my reciever witch is one of yamaha's top end recievers when i go through dsp modes there still in 2 channal.i don't have this problem for games or blu-movies?i have a 7 channel mode but that just make each speaker sound the same. There is a way to do this i know but i have no manual and that blows
