Default Playing CD's on Blu Ray players

Do any of you guys use your player for playing CD's? If so how is the sound quality compared to a regular CD player? My entertainment center has limited space and I'm thinking of getting rid of the CD player. Thoughts?

Thanks

I use my PS3 for CD playback. It features upsampling if you're into that sort of thing. Beats the pants off most conventional CD players.

Yeah, do it all the time. Works great. I removed my CD player and almost removed my DVD player....but I decided to keep the DVD. The kids get their discs too dirty and I won't allow them in my PS3!

the original PS1, like mark 1 was perhaps one of the best CD players, pretty much still is.

got to agree with that (I mean the earlier batch of PS1). the sound quality is soooo high. PS2 can't beat it.

I use my PS3 for music. I replaced an Oppo upconvert DVD player. The PS3 is not quite as good, but, it does the job, nonetheless.

Waiting for my Onkyo 605 to get here so I can send out via HDMI, it should be on par then...

I actually added an external hard drive to my PS3 to hold my music collection. The system does a great job with music. Still keeping my oppo though. I own too many foreign dvd's and I like the upscaling a bit better.
