I'm hoping someone on here can help me with this. I've read the Calibration thread and bought the DVE: HD Basics blu-ray. Both the thread and disc were a great help, but I've run into a wee problem.
I own a Philips 42pf7621d/10 LCD telly and on it, when I try to adjust the colour, I can't get it to work. I look through the supplied blue filter and can get the blues pretty close to how the disc tells me they should look. I then look through the red filter and they are just as good. But when I check through the green filter I can still see every colour on screen - magenta, yellow, blue, red etc. They just have a slight green tint to them. According to the disc I should see the same as with the blue and red filters; a green screen with black squares in it. I have Tint set to Normal, Colour Enhancement set to Medium and Dynamic Contrast also set to Medium, although having tried changing these it makes no difference. Has anyone here got the same TV or run into a similar problem and can maybe point me in the right direction for sorting this? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I have the same issue with my Sharp. I think we might be ignored in our questions (for i posted one just moments ago) because it might be something obvious?

Some sets will never be able to get the colors calibrated perfectly. I can't remember which tv's they are, but after professional calibration the colors weren't exactly where they should be. If you do a search on the thread you might be able to find some info. I would look, but i have to go to work now.
Some sets have a service menu. And I believe there you can make more adjustments. I have never used the service menus on my tv's. I wouldn't recommend you doing that unless you really know what you are doing. I heard many stories on this site of people really messing up their tv's like that. |

yeah, after having no replies i resigned myself to the fact that either nobody can or is willing to help. i've searched through a fair bit of topics on this site and at other forums and have found nothing to help, although one of the magazine reviewers at whathifi. com said they'd pass on my problem to their team to see if any of them could help. so far though, no reply.
i don't fancy tampering with my service menu, but it would be nice to know if this is a known issue with the TV before i shell out for an ISF calibration. |
