Default Big Fish.. Big Problems?

Anyone else having problems with this disc? It loads fine (like the Descent) however it wont save my audio settings once the movie starts and goes back to Dolby Digital when I am trying to use PCM... Then subtitles will turn on if you go to a different title. Then the menu also doesn't dissapear until you go to a different title... Then the movie goes back to the loading screen in the middle of it and starts freezing up, then just goes back to the beginning of the disc. Am I the only one experiencing this? It's a Sony BDP-S1 I am watching it on...

Hmm. I'll have to check this in my Panny when I get home.

Big Fish is the first SPE's BD-J title, anyway. That issue may be caused by its authored Java program or compatibility issue on some players.

Is this happening on v1.55?

Actually, I haven't been able to do the firmware upgrade yet (out of DVD-R's). I wasn't sure if that upgrade actually did anything other than play BD-R's or whatever.

I think Firmware 1.5 is an important upgrade to fix issues on BD-J implementation.

Had no problems on our Panny. I'm not sure of the firmware version, but unless they've released something very recently, it's up to date.

Also didn't experience the problem on the PS3. But, I was running the original firmware at the time.

Unfortunately, 1.55 does not fix all the glitches with Big Fish on the S-1.

On mine, I do not have the subtitle issue, but some of the others issues, like not remembering the audio choice, and the pop-up menu within the movie does not completely go away after you engage it are still happening.

None of these problems happen on my PS3, so at least we know the disc is good. We have to probably wait for another firmware update from Sony to get it to play correctly on the S-1.

I put in Big Fish last night on my PS3; I use the controller as the remote. I can only pause (and therefore play from a pause) by accessing the translucent pop-up menu, pressing X does nothing. Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know how to correct it. If not, this will tip me to buy the remote (I do have about $200 in credit at Gamestop).

Yes that happened to me. The remote works fine. At the moment I can't remember if pressing triangle at the controller and selecting the functions icons also worked, as I found the remote worked fine and then went to watch the movie, but that might work too.

In a related/unrelated item, I've found I can't access the trailer and making-of of Warner's goodnight and good luck from clicking on the menu, and have to do a Title select to reach them.

v.1.51

Default Problem with Big Fish Blu Ray Disk

I have the LG Super Multi Blu Ray/HD DVD player and I got the Big Fish bluray and popped the disc in and it took almost 5 minutes to load. Then when it gets to the main menu screen, I cant do anything. Press play, nothing. Try to navigate the screen, nothing. I returned the disc for a new one and it does the same thing. I found one other post like mine on another site and the guy had a Samsung blu ray player.

Anyone else have this issue with this movie, or perhaps another movie that just wouldnt work in your player?

Sounds like your machine needs to be updated to accept the new Java. Has LG released any firmware upgrades?

Your problem is your "LG SUPER Multi Blu Ray/HD DVD player " Try exchanging it for a BD Player.
