I have an interesting dilemma. Actually it's not so much interesting as it is sucky.
I had a 60GB model just crap out on me, and swapped it out for 160GB at Best Buy with the protection plan. Problem is, my PSN account is already activated on five PS3s, including that one, and I can't download my PSN store material to the new one. Since the old one wouldn't power on, I couldn't manually deactivate it from the system. I called Sony, because I heard you can have your PSN account reset back to 0, but the woman I talked to said it was impossible for them to do this. Has anyone else run into this problem? |

i think what he means is that he gave his account info to 4 other people for sharing purposes.
as for your problem, you might be able to tell one of your friends to deactivate your account on their ps3. its not like you'll be downloading stuff on it anyways if you can't get it going. |

I have had a friend with the same issue, and Sony was not able reset the number of activations (would not). This might have changed now.
But suffice to say he no longer shares his PSN content. Hope you get it sorted! |

Thanks. We're kind of in the process of it. I called yesterday, and they're making me fax a receipt in for some odd reason. It looks like we'll have to go through this process five times to remove all five of the accounts I had activated on my machine. Really ridiculous.
And yes, that was the issue. Me and four other family members all have each other's PSN accounts. |
