Japanese PSN Account - Blu-ray Forum

I've been trying to create a Japanese PSN Account so I can download the GT5 Prologue demo from the Japanese Store before it's gone. I haven't had much luck though...

Does anyone know if there is a step by step walkthrough for making a Japanese PSN Account?

I wanted the new GT5 demo and so I had to make a japanese account, and guess what it worked. :-)

The GT5 Prologue demo availability's been extended a couple of weeks so you shouldn't have any trouble with that.

Just saw the mention of the demo time being extended on IGN as well.

Yes it is very easy. I have a Japanese and a European account.

my first PSN account was japanese (since december). My main account is European (since PS3 release in EU).

I hope you understand katakana, otherwise, it will be difficult. The guide above, though, will be helpful, but katakana/hiragana will be helpful. The PSN menu are entirely in Japanese. If you need help, may I suggest you contact "gandalf"

Only the Prologue demo and GT HD until that's removed from the store.

I was hoping to avoid this by seeing the demo on the US site today, but its not there. Japanese PSN account, here i come!

Hmm... is the download of the demo time limited or is the actual playtime going to be time limited in some way? I've been enjoying GT5 Prologue for some time (i had to guess at a couple of the mentions but didn't have too much of a hard time guestimating).

wow Thanks soo much! i'm downloading a lot of stuff from there. does anyone know if the ps1 games will play on the US PS3 and PSP??

They will play (there's a free PSone puzzle game demo you can try) but you won't be able to buy any of them in the first place unless maybe you import some of these PSN cards:

so the japanese store doesn't automatically convert currency?

I think they only take cards with Japanese billing addresses.
