Default Receiver or Home Theater System

Guys, I've been missing out on HD sound, and need your help for a decent deal this Black Friday. Which one you know is best for my PS3? Thanks. SOrry if I'm posting on the wrong forum.

Hard to beat for the price. Or you can spend $40 more and get the 606 which is the newer model. I heard that some people were able to score the 605 for mid 200s though.

Not exactly a hot deal. There are a ton of posts on the subject and even a sticky over in the HT forums here. Start here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=71252 and then feel free to make a post asking for suggestions. Onkyo 605 refurbs can still be had in the $225-250 range.

your question really depends on you and what your budget is and what you want vs what you could live with. i have a simple 5.1 home theater that works for my living room. would i like to set it up right, of course, but it would be overkill and i'd rather save myself some money.

eCost has a good deal which was mentioned in another post about this receiver which I bought and can vouch that eCost is really reliable and fast shipping here is the link. http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp...avid=155441519

Default Onkyo

Thanks for the responses. What you do you think of the Onkyo package at CC this weekend for $600, which come with the Engery Channel Speaker system?

The Onkyo 506 doesn't do HD audio unless you have a player with multichannel outs and internal decoding of the formats.

For a complete system, how does this one stack up? (don't need the dvd player but meh, it can go to the kids or something)

It sells for a lot more than that in regular retail stores, even with the shipping...

Are there any major differences between the 605 and the 606 Onkyo receivers?

Extra HDMI inputs (2) and better upscaling I guess. I don't remember what else.

Default Rm6750

Hi, Driver King, I followed your budget recommendation, then ended up upgraded the center speaker with Polk CS1, 2 front with Polk 50s, now thinking about the sub. The question I have now is that was it even worth it to get the RM6750 to begin with? It's too late for me already, but for someone else to start out.

Default Can someone tell me if this is a good deal and there opinion on this system???

Im looking at getting a new amplifier and speaker system and came across
"Sony HTDDW7000 MUTEKI HOME THEATRE SYSTEM" for $950.
Is it worth it or could I get something better? Im looking at spending a MAX of $1000. Your opinions would be fantastic.

If you have a look at google it should be the first link. Its at a place called JBHI.

If you want to let me know what amplifiers and speakers are good that would help me alot. Like i said im looking at around $1000.

Cheers.
