Hey man, no offense meant here, but you have like 6 threads all asking really basic questions. Might I make a couple suggestions?

1. Read the manual on your receiver and speakers. A lot of this is explained.
2. Maybe pick one of your other threads to toss a new question in?
3. Check out the stickies in the forum- they'll help with some of these questions.

Again, don't take this wrong, and welcome to the forum.

I thought I already knew these things, there's no sticky with any of this stuff, most of it is just more technical things. The banana plugs don't really seem like they go into the receiver. I unscrew the red and black parts and they don't fit in.

Do me a favor and list your equipment- that'll help.

Banana plugs are held in by compression, so there may require a little push. They really shouldn't be hard to fit in however. Should look something like this:

Also check this out. Shows some basics about terminating wire that may help as well.

No offense intended....but ease up on the threads. I already responded to 2 of them with the identical answer. What was it about the first answer that neccessitated another thread to receive the same answer

This is from A Guide to Optical, Coaxial, & Speaker Cables. It has a sticky under audio discussion.

When connecting the speaker wires, make sure you connect the red terminal on the receiver/amplifier to the red speaker terminal and the black to black. There are two types of speaker terminals: Binding Post & Spring Loaded, and four types of connectors: Bare Wires, Pin Connectors, Spade Connectors, & Banana Plugs.

Pin Connectors and Bare Wires can be used with Binding Post and Spring Loaded terminals. Spade Type Connectors and Banana Plugs can only be used with Binding Post Terminals.
