Default What's Wrong with Music?

I just listened to some tracks from the new Brittany Spears album, and it sounded like trash. So I went to check out the new Kanye West to see how it was... Apparently he things he's a terrible version of T-Pain now, because his stuff (other than love lockdown) sounded like trash as well..

Are there ANY good albums coming out anytime soon?

Good music these days is a rarity. Your best bet is music from the '60s to the '80s.

I know what you mean... It's bad when my iPod is filled with random songs from bands because they're usually one hit wonders.

there's plenty of good music out there that just came out recently. some of which i have and some i am wanting to get. here's a short list:

the cure - 4:15 dream
kings of leon - only by the night
tracy chapman - our bright future
bloc party - intimacy
snow patrol - a hundred million suns
ryan adams and the cardinals - cardinology

if you only look towards top 40 then of course you're probably going to find mostly crap. top 40 hasn't been good in 10 years.

that's not true. there is a ton of great music being made today, but some great bands. plus you're forgetting about the amazing 90's. anyway, here's a list of great bands today making great music (it's not all bad):

the heavy circles
death cab for cutie
the raconteurs
coldplay
martha wainwright
guster
iron and wine
ryan adams
ryan adams and the cardinals

Try the new album by Enya, that's what I call good music. Gets to your heart with the new-age type of melodies. It's called "And winter came".

because your listening to pop trash.

try listening to something other than britney, t-pain and kanye and you might find there is still a lot of good music being made.

I gave up on my favorite music during my urban youth days, hip hop and rap, some years ago. Still have to keep up with it when I host parties at my house, though; but for private listening, I've retired to early-mid 90s hip hop and 80s rock. Whitesnake and Nas! Now there's an eclectic playlist!

I think KANE-E. West's one song 'stronger' I think was the title. Sucked ass.

I liked it a great deal more when it was Daft Punk.

i haven't heard them, but i have been interested. what do they sound like? i myself, can't recommend the heavy circles enough. they are the best new band that has come out this year and in the last 10 years i think. i also forgot to mention leona naess as well as her new album thirteens. great stuff. this year has been another amazing year for music. it won't top anything that came out in the year 1990 or 1992 for example, but it's darn close.

I would say the same for the Arctic Monkeys. They sound a bit raw (which I like), maybe even a British version of The Kings of Leon's first album. They have a fairly thick accent and are amazing musicians. What I love most about them is that they do amazing tempo changes during their songs. It makes every song feel like 2 or 3 seperate tracks.

I did like his last album. "My head is so big they call me Jack-in-the-Box."

That's one conceited dude. And props for having Craig David do voice work on it.

I like early to mid ninties music best. The era of grunge (with Nirvana) and hard rock (Guns 'N' Roses and Metalica, but Metalica's new stuff is a bit down reciently). Now we've got nothing. The Noughties is the worst era for just about everything on the planet. I like the new tech, but overall, this decade is just boring. I want the ninties back.
