Default Outputting 720p?

Hello, I currently don't have a monitor that supports 1080p. When i play movies, the resolution is 1920x1080 so I am assuming it is doing 1080i. Is there a way to switch it to 720p? I am currently using PowerDVD 8 Ultra to play my movies. Thanks for the help.

What is the native resolution for your monitor? If it is 1920x1080, then that's what Windows should be set at and will give you the best picture. If you are using a PC monitor, then they are all progressive... I think.

Don't worry the computer/software will just downsample it to fit your resolution. So the resolution of what you will be seeing is between 720p and 1080p.
