Default Horror Fans: "Amusement" Blu-ray Jan 20-2009. Worth a blind buy?

This actually looks kinda good & campy etc. I´m on axelmusic right now making this months pre-orders, and i wanna know, has anyone here seen this movie? Or heard anything.. Im a sucker for oldschool horror movies.

Oh yeah, and this movie features a Crazy Clown, Say no more.

Blu-ray is released by New Line/Warner and has Dolby True-HD.

The preview of it that I saw looked good so I'm pretty sure I'll blind-buy it. I really like most horror movies though so there's very little chance I won't like it.

The things I heard came from a test screening, but they aren't too good. That means they probably edited it a bit to make it better, but I don't know. I'm a sucker for covers/trailers, so I'll probably pick it up if I can find it for a good price.

I had a chance to watch this in theater.

It was not bad, not great. It is amusing indeed but the scary parts are the sound (like every other scary movie) not the visual, so that I think it's in Average standard. But the ending was actually nice.

Found this quote online....
"aparently bloodydisgusting.com saw an early screening of it and they called it 'disastorous' and that they could now see why it was chosen to go straight to dvd."

The trailer looks great but the reviews I've read have said it was terrible. The studio, Picturehouse, thought the film was unsalvageable so rather than setting a theatrical release date (before they went under) they decided to send it direct-to-video.

When I first saw the trailer I was very excited, then I found out who wrote it (the same guy as the awful "When A Stranger Calls" remake) and then came the bad reviews.

So I'd say definitely not worth a blind buy. Its direct-to-video, there wasn't even a limited release on this thing.
