![]() So the first Toshiba HD-DVD recorder is just $1,000. That's amazingly cheap imo. £600 or less in proper money. About the same rrp as my Pan 85. I thought the first HD/BR hi-def recorders would be £1,000+ even in the States. There's also a version with HDD that could be as much as 1 Terabyte (1,024GB!). No details on price as of yet. first mass produced dvd was around 1000$ so that's not surprising. I suspect blu ray to be in the same area for pricing at first . There will also be more competition for blu ray since more companies are involved which will cut the price faster.
