Should be fine. Neither of the ones you mentioned would improve performance, as long as your Monster works. Same goes for a cheap HDMI as well.

Don't deceive yourself. An hdmi cable is a hdmi cable. You'll regret it later.

Well, be prepared to get bashed. But I'm pretty sure their 1000 series is their best, so it will have the most up to date specs. Go to www.monstercable.com for the specs though

There is no such thing as a v1.3a cable. HDMI versions apply to the device only. Cables are either category 1 (which you will rarely ever find these days) and category 2 (which will pass everything blu-ray has to offer). As was mentioned earlier, don't kid yourself. Monster is 1000% overpriced in order to pay for their lawyers and marketing staff. Their cables are made in the same China factories as just about everyone else's cables. Go with a Monoprice cable and save yourself enough $$ to buy 5-7 BDs.

1.1 will pass the HD Audio fine if you are sending it through PCM... and it will do 1080p as well...

unfortunately, no one has answered the OP's question. instead of ranting on about how overpriced Monster is (which happens to be true), why not answer her question? it's useless to tell her not to waste money buying a Monster cable because she already has - in fact, she has a monster cable that is a few years old. the fact is, she needs a v1.3 cable if she wants to send bitstream trueHD or DTS-HD, and no one has stated whether or not the M1000DAV is v1.3. yes, she can always send PCM audio, but we don't know if her devices can decode the codecs anyway.

so the point remains - is the M1000DAV v1.3????

This has been discussed ad nauseum on a number of threads on this site, but as Ricshoe mentioned above, there is no such thing as a 1.3 compliant cable. The HDMI variants only apply to hardware. There are standard (category 1) and high speed (category 2) HDMI cables. Anybody trying to sell you a "HDMI 1.3 compliant cable" is trying to pull a fast one on you.

From the HDMI.org site:

Quote:
Q. What is the difference between a “Standard” HDMI cable and a “High-Speed” HDMI cable?

Recently, HDMI Licensing, LLC announced that cables would be tested as Standard or High-Speed cables.

Standard (or “category 1”) cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 75Mhz, which is the equivalent of a 1080i signal.

High Speed (or “category 2”) cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600).
Since the M1000 is Monster's highest quality cable, I'm sure it is a high speed cable and the OP should have no problems with it. Honestly speaking, at cable lengths less than 6 feet or so, any HDMI cable will probably do the trick for pretty much all applications. It's when the cable runs get longer (>25') that you have to worry more about quality.
