Default One of the best GAMES EVER IS comeing to the playstation 3 this fall

for those that have not played this game back in the 80's you are in for a real treat.....this a is board game that is the just awsome:

read on:

the classic board game from games workshop will be comeing to the playstation 3

HERE IS A LINK FOR THE BACKGROUND FOR THIS AWSOME BOARD GAME

http://www.talismanisland.com/

US, April 13, 2007 - This winter, Capcom will bring the Games Workshop board game Talisman to the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and PC platforms. Originally created in 1983 by the highly-successful table game company, Talisman (which is currently out of print) was a combination card and board game that had loose ties to the company's Warhammer Fantasy universe.

The videogame version of Talisman sounds like it will be a close digital representation of the classic game, utilizing a virtual board with 3D characters and environments. Up to four players can play online and off and take advantage of the game's 25 characters from the franchise. Voice chat options will allow players to talk while the game progresses, and downloadable game expansions, including character updates, adventure card updates, alternate endings and more, are expected to give legs to the title over time.

Other details on the game are scarce, other than the fact that it is in production at Big Rooster studios and will be available this winter.

If they do it right, they would manufacture the boardgame along with the console to be used with the EyeToyHD.

WELL since games workshop is working with Capcom on the project..and games workshop IS RE-RELEASEING THE BOARD GAME THIS FALL..THAT MAY BE WHAT IS GOING ON..I DO NOT KNOW IT SHURE IS Something that could very well happen.....Capcom shure is going to have a sleeper hit with this game.for those who have never played this game...it is very adictive..an since they are going to add expansions to this game ...the gamers are going to eat it up..see back in the 80's get this with all the expansions the total cost of Talisman over $190.00 [/U]

here is a little history of the Talisman board game
In Talisman, you assume the role of 1 of 14 Fantasy-characters and travel through a mystic world in order to discover magic artifacts. Your character grows stronger and wiser by discovering new items, meeting new companions and by fighting against the many evil monsters which populate the world of Talisman. In the end, when you think that your character is strong enough, you might try to solve the voyage to the Crown of Command. If you should succeed the this journey, you must take the Crown and use it to defeat all the other players. The game contains a large variety of random cards like events, monsters, followers, gold and other objects and you can also buy equipment like swords, shields, helmets or mules. Furthermore, each character has different abilities for different game situations. Due to the high number of available cards, no two games are alike, and many events can happen to the players while on their journey

However, if just playing Talisman means fun, it´s even better to have the extension-sets:

official set expansions that were produced by Games Workshop

1)Talisman - The Expansion: More characters and random cards.
2)Talisman - The Dungeon: The pile of random cards is boosted by some portal cards which allow the players to enter a new board which contains a dungeon. Here the players travel through the dungeon in order to reach the Treasure Room which contains a Teleport which might bring them to the Crown of Command. Also some new characters are included.
3)Talisman - City: The City on the edge of the Mainboard becomes a whole new board. The characters can travel in this city, having the possibilities of buying a large variety of new equipment, earning money by doing jobs of becoming a city-character like Sheriff, Master-Thief etc...
4)Talisman - Timescape: Mystical "Warp Gates" now can magically be opened, allowing the characters to travel to another board - The Timescape. Here they can fight even greater monsters but they can also earn great rewards. 8 Timescape-Characters like Archeologist, Scientist and Space Marine (!) are included together with even more equiment.
5)Talisman - The Adventure: This box I hunted down for three years. It contains not only new random cards, charcters and character sheets, but also a set of 6 different endings for the whole game. The Crown of Command: is replaced by a ending-card, which is revealed when one character reaches the final space. Now characters might face a huge dragon, fall into the horrible black void or might find Pandora´s Box full of mystical gadgets
6)Talisman - The Dragons: This box contains about 80 adventure cards (many dragon-enemies and items) which must be shouffled into the adventure deck, and also 4 special Dragons-Characters (Dragon Priest, Dragon Rider, Questing Knight and Berserker Dwarf) are included. This was the last expansion-set for the 2nd edition of Talisman and it had a very low circulation number, so that it is very hard to find a copy of the Dragons today.

right now there are over 50+ expansions that have been made for the game
(some by the creators of Talisman from games workshop..but not a official games workshop game expansion.. "they just love the game". or other people an players who made their own) but since the TOOLS for makeing the parts for the game ie: extra character cards, adventure cards, equipment cards ,spell's are online and downloadable.for free you have an ever expanding board game.it make's for an interesting thing to see what type of game expansion that people have made for this game. so chooseing expansions to play on is not a problem

here is a link to some of the big EXPANSIONS FOR DOWNLOAD..FOR FREE

http://www.talismanisland.com/expansions.htm
