Unhappy Firmware

I had not payed attention to the firmware updates and therefore when I bought and got given some new movies they would not play on my S300. My latest update was 3.7. I realize this is extremely outdated and have requested the new 4.40 update from Sony. My question is whether or not that update will bring my machine up to date completely or do I need to order other previous updates to get my player up to date? I will start paying better attention to firmware updates obviously.

Cool

With 4.40 you'll be up to date.

You only need the latest firmware update installed, as each firmware incorporates all prior updates automatically. But it is good to keep up with firmware changes for your machine.

Default Samsung Blu Ray BD-1500 Issue with some Movies

I recently puchased a samsung BD-P1500 and everything was great I purchased Horton Hears A Who for my girlfriend and it would not play. I thought that i somehow I got a bad disk so I rented one from B B and got the same thing the menu would come up but when you hit play it would load and then go back to the main menu so then I new there was an issue. I went on samsung's websit downloaded the firmware and now it works great. Also I just purchased it two weeks ago its pretty bad you already have to uprage it. But I think its a good buy I got it at Costco for $179.00

Allmost every product now days seems like it needs an update when you first get it. That includes Ps3's, BD players, games, and computers. I don't think it's a bad thing. All of my stuff is somehow on my network whether it's wired or wireless, so it's not a big deal for me. Allthough I feel bad for people that don't have a wired/wireless network in there home. But I don't understand why , it is 2009!!
