Bionic Commando Nathan Spencer will be voiced by Vocalist/Actor/Musician Mike Patton.
Mike Patton had his first major success as lead singer in the Rock band Faith No More. During his time in FNM, Patton also fronted experimental-bizarro Metal band Mr. Bungle which he continued in after FNM's break-up in 1998. While fronting FNM & Mr. Bungle, Patton created the experimental-metal band Fantômas in 1998. Eventually FNM & Mr. Bungle were disbanded in 1998 and 2000 respectively and Fantômas continued until it was also unofficially semi-haulted in 2000 to make room for yet another Patton project, the relitively mainstream Rock band Tomahawk. Departing from your average Patton experimental Mayhem, Tomahawk relied on more of a mainstream Rock sound. The time-line continues in 2006 with Patton's latest commercial release; the self titled debut of Peeping Tom. Peeping Tom members included Human Beatboxer Rahzel from The Roots. Another notch on Mike Patton's extensive resume is the feature film "I am Legend" staring Will Smith. Mike provided the Vampire voices (screams). Mike Patton is considered by many in the entertainment & music industry to be a mastermind in the world of music. Collaborating with hundreds of brilliant musical minds during his carrier as a professional musician. When all said is done, we can truly say "He is Legend" of Mike Patton. Video Game Credits: 2007 - The Darkness - Voice of The Darkness (Starbreeze Studios) 2007 - Portal - Voice of the Anger Sphere (Valve Software) 2008 - Left 4 Dead - Infected sounds (Valve Software) 2009 - Bionic Commando - Voice of Nathan Spencer - the Bionic Commando (Capcom) |

Mike Patton is awesome, they said on his work in The Darkness he didn't use any kind of vocal effects, I find that to be amazing. I chose Peeping Tom cause for a while they replaced Rahzel with Butterscotch, man that chick can beatbox.

You're either crazy or you don't like all the hip hop he's been doing lately. What about: Patton/Kaada - very spooky and orchestral (DVD is amazing) General Patton vs. the executioners - crazy hiphop the crucible - a new album he's doing with John Zorn and Trevor Dunn. All in all it's really hard to say one is your favorite when the guy does so much stuff. I'll go with the easy pics of Mr. Bungle "California" or Fantomas "The Directors Cut." I'm just glad to see people on this site knows who he is. Also, i think the article the OP is quoting is wrong. It says Fantomas semi-disbanded in 2000. Not true, but most of his projects do go on hiatus when he switches to another thing. Most of the people he collaborates with have other bands too, so i imagine it's a logistical nightmare to do anything. Last edited by Riff Magnum; 01-14-2009 at 04:36 PM. |

Call me crazy. The hip-hop does nothing for me and the majority of the stuff that I heard is Patton making animal noises. Mike Patton comes across to me as sort of a prick (personality wise). He breaks up every band he's in, and it seems that he rather not use his voice in a melodic more mainstream way, but instead gives us animal noises and the like. Maybe he feels that this tunnel vision view of his "artistry" that he has and promotes will warrant a title of Musical Innovator, but at the speedy rate that he's going just trying to avoid success will most likely only leave him the title Forgotten. |

I've seen Mr. Bungle in concert twice (and FNM once and Tomahawk once) and they were incredible live. It's amazing how tight they are live with all the different instruments and sounds going on.

Oh, i see you say "semi-disbanded," but that's still a little misleading since Fantomas have released 3 albums since 2000 and they also released the Fantomas/Melvins Big Band Live Cd and DVD. Its' true that Lombardo has Slayer, Buzz has Melvins, Dunn has the Trio Convulsant along with side projects, and Patton has a million projects as well. I don't think Tomahawk takes up too much time since they axed Kevin Rutmanis and Duane Dennison writes all the music anyways. On they're last album "Anonymous (awesome btw)," the music was recoreded in Nashville and Patton did the vocals separately in California. Fantomas has never been a totally full time thing for them, but according to Buzz it's totally Patton's baby, as he writes and arranges all that craziness for the quartet to play. It's his attempt at Captain Beefhart. |

Yeah, i'm not really getting Scapp70's point either. You complain about the hip-hop, but at the same time complain that all he does is make animal noises and try to avoid success. Weird, because the Peeping Tom album of hip-hop has lots of regular singing and melodies on it. They also got alot of airplay and exposure during their many months of touring, so i think Peeping Tom has been one of Pattons most commercially successful projects.
C'mon, the guys great at making crazy noises with his voice and now more and more people are willing to pay him to do that. Why wouldn't he accept? The more money he makes, the more money his label, Ipecac, makes. The more money Ipecac makes, the more cool bands they can produce and promote, the better. You don't like his crazy stuff and you don't like his hip-hop stuff, so what do you like? Faith No More and the first two Tomahawk albums? I guess i just incorrectly assume that all Mike Patton fans are down for whatever he does and just accept it like the marks we are. ![]() |
