There is another.

Rearmed is a remake of the original NES game. The one coming out is a disc based PS3 game.

The "other" one is coming out as a full priced disc game (MSRP ~$60).

I just played the demo and I liked it very much, old school gameplay and music meets up to date 2.5D graphics. For 5$ I guess it's a no brainer, and if it was your favourite game as a kid...what are you waiting for?

Oh and It seems to be a limited time only offer.

I hope we'll see more of those 2.5D remakes, give me Castlevania and Turrican!!

New Bionic Commando: Rearmed Update Includes TROPHIES and More!

First of all, happy two year anniversary PlayStation Blog!

So to celebrate, we’re going to make good on a promise we made a while back. After all of the constructive (sometimes, brutally constructive) feedback from the community, Capcom USA and GRIN decided to go back to the lab and work on an update for Bionic Commando Rearmed. But wait, it gets deeper. Not only are we adding trophy support (that’s right son), those over-delivering, son-of-a-guns got a little crazy and are offering a bit more:

New “Normal” difficulty setting. In this setting, the following changes are made:

When you die, you respawn at the last solid ground or checkpoint
The level Albatross B was cut
The ability to reel out the cable when hanging or swinging to its full length
If the player swings into a wall, they will no longer disconnect and be thrown away from the wall. Instead, they will keep connected and reel in
Unlimited lives

Super Joe Machine Gun bug fix:

When upgraded, the weapon also becomes more powerful in addition to the larger clip
Fixed for all difficulty levels.
I hope all of you recognize the important role you play in helping us make better games. Our dialogues on PlayStation Blog and the Capcom Unity forums were the primary motivators for this update, and as long as this open communication is done constructively, good things can and will happen (Honestly, all the Eff Crapcom stuff didn’t help the process, lol). We may not be able to follow through on every request from the community, but I guarantee you, we are listening. Thanks to all of you for the feedback and the involvement, please keep it up!

Wow this is a suprising news! Its been a while I haven't played that game. A really nice update! Infinite live will help a lot of the frustration... and hurray for the trophies!!

Wow. I guess all the backlash on the playstation blog after they announced there weren't going to be trophies didn't fall on deaf ears (it was part of the $4.99 announcement)

Much happier with Capcom today. Is there a trophy list somewhere?

Has Capcom posted this update yet? I definitely wouldn't mind playing through the game again. It seems the folks at Capcom are a little bitter about some of the feedback they were getting from the PS Blog. But honestly, though they never expressly promised trophies, they repeatedly discussed and implied a trophy update for some time. Capcom shouldn't have been surprised that all the kids on the PS Blog would cry and scream about it.

I used to love BC on the Nintendo 8-bit,I also the like the original arcade version as well,(I got that on the Capcom collections on PS2 and PSP), I wish that capcom would update Black Tiger(does anybody here remember that one?), my all time favorite arcade game, I could beat the whole game w/ one quarter back in the day, at least I can play BT on my PS2 and PSP!
