LOL I know.

I mean it bothers me when I get paid and my hours are not all on my check due to a mistake, it bothers me when I plug in a brand new PS3 and it flat out doesn't work, it bothers me when I spend good money ordering a blu-ray and it arrives severely damaged, but how something is worded in an ad does not make me lay an egg, make my blood pressure shoot up, piss me off, or just flat out does not bother me in the least.

i'd say most people call a movie a dvd. so calling them blu-ray dvd's isn't all that crazy.

but man..this forum goes nuts if you spell blu-ray wrong..so lol

Actually i've seen that happen. Target had some blu-rays where i live that the security sticker had some of them listed as HD-DVD's. But yea, i don't get how it bothers people.

My wife occasionally calls them DVDs, do I explode in a geek-fused rage when she does? No, because I'm a rational human being. I just think of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons, when I come across threads like this.

Perhaps the customers of Sears are completely familiar with the Blu-Ray format. So putting DVD behind it might make them take a 2nd look. It's not anything personal, it's marketing. Sears has been around for a long long time, I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Exactly...I Manage at a SEARS store....and we are not geared for tech heads and fanboys (like myself ).We are trying to bring blu-ray to the average public....so you should be thankfull for us ...not SLAMMING us.Besides I constantly see this type of "verbage" all the time in other big box store ads, and yes EVEN AT YOUR PRECIOUS BB, AND especially Citcuit City.

Note: If you want reality..... a blu-ray is a HD dvd.......a High-Definition DIGITAL VIDEO DISC.....so get over yourselves, and move on...

Yea well, how common is it to find Blu ray under the DVD category?? Too common. Can you imagine how much it must irritate those who work at an electronic store to hear someone say "Where are your Blu ray DVD's?".

It's just wording dude, not a big deal. The stores will get it right eventually. That is, unless people get too used to the term, then it'll be around forever.
