Default Cable Hookup on HDTV Problem?

In my living room, we have our HDTV that is hooked up to my PS3 and a Direct TV. I have my PS3 connected through the HDMI. The HDTV has two HDMI Slots and I put the PS3 in the second slot for HDMI which goes to channel HDMI2.

The Cable is connected the same way. He put a HDMI in the first slot with green, yellow, white and red in the back. When watching on the HDMI1 Channel, for some reason the HD Channels come out to where the voices on there are slower. Like the voice tone is lower. The video on the HD Channels look fine but for some reason there voices sound different. If I put it on Video Source then it all comes out right but I want it to be clear on the HDMI Channel because I think the HDMI makes the video look a little better than going to the video source.

Thanks If Anyone can help.
