Default Forgive Me For My Stupidity....but

Apologies if this question has already been asked....

I've just bought my PS3 (yeeeah) and totally in awe with the PQ of both games and BD movies.

I'm in Australia and can't get an Aust release of Kingdom of Heaven. I've spotted one copy in Amazon.uk and it states to be "Region Free".

Does this mean if I purchased it....it will work on my Aust PS3? Thanks for assisting.

If it's region free as stated, it will definitely play on an Australian PS3.

Give a man a BD and he's happy for a day, give him a Region chart and he'll buy BDs for life.

gerard786, Blu-ray regions break down into this:

Region A: America, Japan, Corea, South East Asia
Region B: Grøenland, Europa, Africa, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand
Region C: China, India, Russia, + a few others remaining in Asia

Here's a map that shows it even better:

You being in Australia, are in Region B. (the orange area in that map)
That means you can buy any Region B Blu-ray released in those countries and they will play (which means all discs released in Europe)

Also there are discs sold that are also multi region (that includes some discs sold in Region A). Til now Warner and Paramount discs seem to be released multiregion, there are also some Disney and Sony titles sold that have been multiregion

I recommend reading the region encoding thread in this forum for more info and always check individual titles before importing.

^^ That's a nice breakdown, especially with that chart.

Thanks for posting the region map. Very enlightening. I didn't realise that this time round, Australia has been paired with Europe. Very useful to know!

Great thread!

I'm glad Japan and America fall into the same region so I can give them more of my money.

Now, I hope this leads to official localized imports of games and subtitled movies!

It might be more beneficial to include a link to the Apocalist here.
