Default Infinty Primus PC350 or Polk RM8 for center?

I'm gonna be using Primus 150's that I have as front LR so am considering the 350 as center, .. but size wise, I'd much prefer the Polk to sit in front of my Sammy 52A850.

Would wall mounting the Infinity 350 above the TV be an option ya think? .. that would put it about 2-3ft above the ears in the "listening zone", lol ..

Any thought or other speaks to look at would be sweet.

Should I abandon the Primus 150s in total? .. really enjoy them and would hate to do it, but I suppose I could use them elsewhere.

Just pulled the trigger on a Denon AVR-1909 and am looking to throw money at some speaks, .. but not too much, heh.

Thanks in advance.

TT

You're going to want to timbre-match so going for the equivalent Infinity speaker in the center. I would think that there are enough options to mounting that you could overcome the hurdle of the size vs. going with a smaller speaker that'll throw off your whole system.

Ya .. it makes sense. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the Infinitys, but I do like'em.

As far as mounting goes, I think I'll need to wall-mount the center. The TV mounts that I've seen I'm not sure will work on my sammy 850. It's pretty thin.

Guess I'll keep poking around and see what I can find for it.

Thanks for the response.

Another option is to go for a stand like mine (check the gallery for pics) that lets you mount it higher up without messing around with the whole wall-mount issues (running wires, etc).

Ya, .. was looking at at the B-Tech BT15

Cheap and should look ok .. maybe. I'm still looking though.

I'm really pretty happy with the stand, .. just works with my house, lol .. so I don't think I'll change that out yet.

Any recommendations for a center shelf?

Thanks

not really. i have one of those standard metal shelf that sits ontop of tvs, my rptv that is. but let me stress as the other guy did, really should timbr match and since your using primus as fronts then you should get a primus center. maybe not the 350 if its too big. the current models seem to have the same specs as the ones i have. like the towers, but i do like how the current towers base looks.
