Speakers would be good! However, you'll need a Receiver or Power/Pre-pro to drive them.

I had a really hard time getting through that post but I'm assuming that you're asking if a receiver/speaker system will sound better than the speakers on your TV.

If that is the questions then the answer is "yes".

You need a receiver, five good speakers, a sub, and an HDTV capable of 1080P in order to take advantage of Blu Ray.

you can go with an onkyo 605. They're pretty cheap these days. Probably around $300 or cheaper. They're hdmi 1.3 capable. And if you have a player that bitstreams dts hdma, it's capable of that. Use hdmi cables to hook it up.

Go to fry's. Check on-line and look for sales on speakers. You'll want to get a nice subwoofer too. I got my two front Polk speakers for $50 each when they are normally $200 each. So I like Polk, especially for first time surround buys. So if you look around and aren't in too much of a rush, you can get 5 speakers worth $1000 for around $500.

Also, the center is the most important speaker. You want your fronts and center to be by the same company. Your back/surround speakers can be of the same company but don't have to be.

As far as your sub, I hear (mainly from this site) that the A2-300 is awesome.

Hope that's helpful.

Sound driving from even a decent 3.1 speaker system is going to be better than sound coming from your TV. You are not getting good sound from your TV at all. So it quite obvious that an external speaker system is going be able to "Listen A Bad Ass Sound..". No sound coming from your television sounds amazing. You are missing out.

I'm upgrading to Polk Audio, want my Bose?

p.s. never buy Bose; I would never load off my Bose to anyone on here. I would feel guilty.

I love it when people are like 'Dude, that movie sounded amazing, and I don't even have a surround sound!' I want to tell them that they haven't actually heard the movie until they've heard it with a nice surround with uncompressed audio.

No need to jump all over the guy...He is just trying to ask a simple question. And I think it has already been answered. Yes, in order to take full advantage of your Blu-rays, you need to get a separate audio system which can decode the HD audio formats. TV speakers just are not going to cut it.

Thanks, buddy.

No problem. I've noticed many people on most forums have no manners, but people like Schultzy and JJ are people to seek out.
