Default uk blu ray cases are bigger...

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but I am sure it has been. I purchased predator 2 from Amazon UK and it arrived today. The first thing I noticed was the case was bigger! It’s no big deal; I just found it strange...that’s all

Picture looks nice...

I don't really care for the thicker cases, but over all I couldn't complain to bad.

A waste of plastic on those cases, and of shelf space.

They're basically PS3 game cases.

They're the same thickness as standard dvd cases, ps3 cases & steelbooks.

As i have said before originally studios (or at least Warner) released titles in slim cases. I have a few movies that where released like this from all the way back in 2006.

The thick cases are the best. They seem much stronger than those thin ones that look like they could easily break. I wouldn't mind if they made them slightly thinner but still as strong.

Some people prefer them due to them being stronger (as mentioned above). I guess the only negative is they take more shelf space.

How do you mean bigger? If they're just wider (like the Wall-E 3-disc and PS3 games), that's no problem. As long as they don't stick out from the shelf, it's fine by me.

They're just thicker. Like a PS3 case.

The Sopranos region A releases and the region A Planet Earth on the other hand... Those really stick out in my collection.

It's kind of strange, but I got three free discs when I purchased my player and the Hancock disc is in a thinner case whereas the Wall*E and Mama Mia are in the typical thicker UK case.

They're actually significantly thicker than standard dvd cases, I noticed this when I replaced my Godfather collection and the Blu-ray set wouldn't fit in the gap on the shelf where I had removed the dvd set!

This just shows how people have different taste and opinions, I would say I'm glad we don't have US thinner cases here .

I like the thinner cases because they take up less room, but the phat ones definitely feel more sturdy. As long as I have the film in Blu that's all that matters to me, the size of the casing is of very low importance.
