Arrow Take That McG - Michael Bay Takes a Shot at Terminator!

From firstshowing and MichaelBayforums

Quote:
That's no Transformer you're looking at, that's a Terminator! Last year the big summer battle was between Iron Man and The Dark Knight, this year the biggest battle is going to be between Terminator Salvation and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Over on his own website, Michael Bay has taken a shot at McG and his "duplicate Transformer size robots." The director wrote an update on the Official Michael Bay Forums hyping up his upcoming Transformers 2 and saying that they've been waiting for all the other big summer movies to "get their stuff out" before they show us the first footage from Transformers.

Okay it's time to turn up the heat on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We've waited low in the weeds letting all the summer movies get their stuff out. We've seen the great year end movies, and watched the upcoming clips of the upcoming summer fare. We've seen certain movies coming out even trying to duplicate Transformer size robots in their ads. Please, come on.

Well, I promise you we will rock your world with Transformers 2. The fans wanted ROBOTS KICKING ASS - well we got it. Today we are releasing the teaser poster and soon the onslaught will continue with a steady drum beat until June 26th.

I really hope McG fires something back at Michael Bay for that snide comment. This is a battle I would really love to see - McG and his passion versus Michael Bay and his explosions. Hell, I'm excited for this summer just to see how these two movies (and their studios) will fight it out. I think in the end both movies can peacefully co-exist, and that's what will hopefully happen. But I know this isn't the first time I've seen people point out that Terminator Salvation has been stealing the "giant robots" idea right out from under Michael Bay.
This could be fun to watch.

That's what they need! A Terminator Vs. Transformers what if? movie! Optimus vs. a T-1000 would be some good fun.

hasn't terminator had giant robots since it first started? They just now have the technology to make them look like more than giant wall-e's with guns. As long as they aren't transforming, I don't see how Michael Bay can really say it's a rip off.

Anyway, I personally have higher hopes for T4 than Transformers 2. Mainly because of how rushed Transformers 2 is. Have they at least finished the script yet?

I also have some faith that Christian Bale wouldn't have signed on unless the story was good.

We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I seem to remember a giant robot in The Terminator. Aren't they called Hunter/Killers?

Right. That's what they are called and what I was poorly referring to with my 'giant wall-e's with guns' remark

to me it doesnt matter as this is all part of the process of hyping up ones movie over the other just as long as the movies are good heres hoping for good summer movies againbut if michael bay really wants to complain that msg is stealing the concept of bigger robots than i think he should go back and watch the terminator films again

That is funny because even though, the Terminator trailer was good, at the end I was like holy crap, it is a transformer
I'll have to agree, regardless of the shots they take at one another, both will make big box office. It is going to be a great summer movie season

Michael Bay said this about Terminator...

Quote:

What a genius (and a douche) Bay is showing himself to be. You mean to tell me that a movie franchize that has been in existence for more than 20 years, a movie franchize that features robots, is now going to show more robots (even really big ones) in it? How dare they!!

Hey Michael Bay, why the long face?

As mentioned above, both of these movies are gonna rake in some money. And I also agree with the statement above of transformers 2 being rushed. Im a little skeptical about this fact and hope that this movie doesn't suck for that reason. Well see, but i will be seeing both of these in the theater and probably get both on blu.
