Default 20th Century Fox BD prices

Does anyone know Why the 20th Century Fox Blu-ray disc prices are so high? $40.00 list price and $28.00. I appreciate that they often have DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. Of course it would be nice if a Blu-Ray player could decode this codec at the 5.1(7.1) analog outputs!!

Default I'd like to know also

Fox has some good titles. I presently own 9 of them.

Most recently I purchased Devil Wears Prada and Eragon.

The DTS sounds good, but frankly I don't think it's worth $5 - $10 extra. The Sony and Disney movies I've gotten recently all tend to be LPCM which I think is great.

I would probably buy more Fox if they were in line with everything else. I just ordered Night at the Museum for this week.

The same deal here in Belgium and Holland,

If you can find them, than they are about 40 Euro, compared to 22.9 for a Sony titel. (New Sony titel = 27 Euro)

Can't argue with this criticism. Even with Amazon discounts or anything else, the Fox titles are noticeably more expensive than just about anything else out there.

IMO this needs to be refined a bit.

Fox had the most expensive sd dvd's, the most expensive Dvhs tapes...and now the most expensive (catalog titles) BD pricing.
Either get over it... or don't buy them...as their not likely to change their pricing policy anytime soon.

Fox prices are high.. both night at the museum and eragon are around £23.99 over here ($48) but it seem's it's best to play the waiting game...

Some titles by Fox are around £17.99 or £14.99 now.. so time will tell on prices.. for me unless it's a must buy i'll wait a few months!

Fair enough, but I think Fox needs to get over themselves a little bit.

Of all the studios that support Blu-ray I've got the least amount of Fox titles due to their high prices. Some movies are worth the extra green but it has stopped me from picking up more. Its not a cheap thing its just the principle.

I don't think the price should be an issue..the FOX Blu Ray are some of the most unique movies out there on Blu Ray and definitely worth the full price

Devil Wears Prada is amazingly refreshing and proves comedies and "chick flicks" deserve Blu treatment as well

Eragon [as much as some of you guys trash on it] is fun and Saphira looks quite nice flying around

X-Men Last Stand is the closest we have to Spiderman and once X1 and X2 come out that's going to be one hell of a blu ray trilogy

Kingdom of Heaven, what an epic, I never picked this up during DVD but the Blu Ray really makes this amazing movie stand out

Kiss of the Dragon, one of the few martial arts movies on Blu-Ray and I am hoping there will be more from Jet Li and HOPEFULLY Jackie Chan on Blu soon

Men of Honor is much like prada, proves a drama does need to be in Blu Ray, plus all the underwater sequences are gorgeous

Now one thing I have to ask, is Rocky Balboa FOX? I see it on the UK website but not the US one..if it is FOX, then I'd say FOX so far has the best blu ray under its belt.

Fox has always had high prices. Remember fox laserdiscs with a SRP of $39.99 while Warner titles were $24.99.
As long as people keep buying Fox discs I can't blame them for keeping this high pricing policy.
Much more annoying is the fact that they don't seem to fully support the format with so few releases.
If the Walmart story is true (That's a big IF) Then I guess the BD camp will have to act quickly to keep the lead....More titles and cheaper players should be available soon.
I was in Thailand for work and wanted to check the price of Blu-Ray there. Went to a big Sony center in bangkok (Paragon) and they did show Blu-Ray but told me there were no plans to release a BluRay disc player in Thailand and there was no news yet on when the PS 3 would be available. HD-DVD was available in the Toshiba shop

Either Fox lowers the price of the Featureless BD Releases. Or maintain their price and release titles with the special features.
