Default Suggestions on how to get broken sub cable piece out of receiver?

Unfortunetly I was moving things around and the tip of my subwoofer cable broke off in my receiver (I have an onkyo tx-sr606). Anyone else ever have this problem? I don't know what to do besides maybe pick up the receiver and hope that the piece falls out.... Hopefully someone has done this before and can give me some advice.

Go to Wal-Mart or any drug store and buy a long tweezer of appropriate size, a magnifying glass, a flashlight, and lots of patience.

my sub still works since the whole prong (is that what its called?) didn't break off in the receiver, so I think I might just suck it up until it makes me mad, or maddER than what I already am!

All of those things are easy for me to obtain, except for the patience part.... I get mad at the stupidest things...

Either the patience otherwise you will need to take it in to an Authorised service center where they can remove it for ya & while you have it there get it seviced as well

couldn't you just have someone hold it upside down while you get it with some tweezers?

take the lid off and push the part that is broken outwards from the inside of the receiver

+1 I just looked at an old device I had and there was a small hole in the backside of the RCA port. If you can fit a needle, pin, allen wrench and push it out, that would be best.

Another option is to try a fine drill bit and see if you can drill into it and pull it out that way.

Don't try epoxy or super glue since you may find yourself worse off.

Is it loose or really stuck in there.....if it was a bit loose, maybe a really strong magnet would work?

darn it fos! you beat me to it!

it really depends on the material of the sub cable, if it would hold a magnetic charge or not. but a good suggestion in lieu of the challenge presented!

Thanks for all of your suggestions! If I do anything i'll take it to a electronics store to get it taken out. My patience level is 0 (if something doesn't work for me the first time, I throw a fit). The sub is working fine, so for now i'm going to just let things be the way they are. If it gets to the point where the cable is falling out, then I will have to get it taken out.
