Default speaker set or piece by piece?

I have been wanting to upgrade my home theater because my speakers right now are very old, but i was wondering if it's best to get a 5.1 theater by buying sets or piece by piece? im not really looking for amazing sound but is this ok? Polk RM6750. Or should i just wait it out next year and buy Polk monitors with cs2 when i earn some more cash or get that set for a lot less money?

I would just go with the Polk Rm6750 for now. Many would probably disagree but you get a good sound for a good price. For $350 you can get yourself a nice 2.1 system.

If you're willing to wait and you know you may upgrade later eventually, then wait to get some Monitor 60's and a CS2 for next year.

I did it piece by piece and found it to be a worthwhile experience. Like the other poster said, buy something that you can grow into rather than out of it.

By buying it piece by piece, you can just buy pieces as your budget allows over time. I think that's the key thing. By spreading out your purchases, you can give yourself a managable budget to work with over time rather than just all at once.

Rather than squeezing your budget into a 5.1 system immediately, start with a 2 channel system. Then down the line throw in another center speaker and a sub. Before you know it, you'll end up with a 5.1 system!
